Winter Strolls
Many of your favorite Cape Cod towns have some sort of "stroll" between Thanksgiving and New Years. Several towns do a First Night Celebration, with Chatham being one of the largest. It's a wonderful time to come to the Cape, stay in a cozy B&B, bundle up and join in the evening fun. There is nothing like fall and early winter on Cape Cod. It's quiet shop owners are more relaxed and have more time to talk and there is certainly no traffic. It's a fun time to reconnect with the Cape at a time of the year that is totally unlike the summer experience.
When we first moved to the Cape as year-round residents 12 years ago, staying open through the winter months was a new concept for restaurants, galleries and shops. A few brave souls toughed it out, found success after a year or two and now business is good enough to encourage others to do it. What a difference a few years make.
